The Relatable Voice Magazine - August 2026

The Relatable Voice Magazine - July 2026. Cover - Leland Mergillano

Dear Readers,

Welcome to our August issue!

This month is especially exciting as we celebrate four years of The Relatable Voice Magazine. Looking back, I'm incredibly grateful for the wonderful community that has grown around our podcast, magazine, and book fair. Thank you for being part of this journey.

Our cover story features the inspiring Joyce Wambua Osborne, whose book Seasons of Me reminds us that growth often comes through life's unexpected seasons. Her story of resilience and self-discovery is one I know many of you will connect with.

Inside this issue, Gary Smith reflects on the power of being heard and his connection to our very first magazine issue, while Verlin Darrow shares his path from struggling writer to award-winning author. Mandy Eve-Barnett explores why creativity matters, and Elizabeth H. Cottrell offers practical advice on how reading can make us better writers. You'll also enjoy articles by Maria Jane, Myron Edwards, Deborah Wilde, and many other talented contributors.

As we celebrate this milestone, we're also looking ahead to the 5th edition of The RV Book Fair, where authors and readers from around the world will come together once again to share stories, ideas, and inspiration.

I hope these pages encourage you to discover someone new, revisit a favorite author, or simply enjoy a quiet moment with a good story.

Thank you for your continued support. Here's to four wonderful years—and to many more adventures together.

Happy reading!
