The RV Book Fair 2026 - Lucia Matuonto

The first edition of The RV Book Fair started because of my guests—the amazing, creative people I had the pleasure of interviewing on The Relatable Voice Podcast.

Very often, after an interview ended and the official recording was over, we would stay for a few more minutes talking. Those little conversations became one of my favorite parts of hosting the podcast. We talked about writing, publishing, new projects, dreams, frustrations, and, of course, books.

And many of my guests would eventually ask me the same question:

“Lucia, is there another place where you can promote my work?”

And I would say, “I’ll think about it.” And I did.

In my imagination, I wished I could have a real venue where I could park my RV, open the doors, put out a few chairs, make some coffee, and invite all these wonderful authors to join me for a three-day celebration of books and stories. I could almost picture it: authors arriving with books under their arms, conversations happening everywhere, readers discovering new stories, and probably someone asking where we could plug in the coffee machine!

There was just one small problem. My authors were everywhere. I had guests from all over the world. How could we possibly get everyone—and all those books—into one RV and meet in one place?

Well... we couldn't. So I thought: Why not bring the Book Fair to them? That was when the idea became real. Instead of asking everyone to travel to the RV, the RV would travel to them—virtually.

I shared the idea with my dear friend and author Pat Backley, who loved it and happily came along for the ride as my co-host. And just like that, Pat and I climbed aboard our imaginary RV and started a new adventure together.

We talked about books, writing, creativity, characters, imagination, life experiences, and the stories behind the stories. People connected. Authors discovered one another. Readers discovered new books. The response was wonderful, and something that had started as a simple idea began to grow.

One Book Fair became another... and another.

Today, The RV Book Fair 2026 marks our fifth edition, and over the years, more than 150 guests have climbed aboard with us.

Perhaps one of the things that makes me happiest is seeing how many of them return. Authors who first joined us as guests have become friends, collaborators, familiar faces, and part of our growing RV community. Every year, we welcome new passengers while happily making room for old friends. And believe me, this RV always has room for one more storyteller.

This year, once again, we celebrate an incredible variety of voices and stories. From fantasy and romance to children's literature, wellness, healing, audio storytelling, fiction, imagination, and the power of the written word, The RV Book Fair 2026 brings together creative minds from different places and different walks of life.

Their genres may be different. Their journeys may be different. Their reasons for writing may be completely different. But they all have one very important thing in common: they have a story worth sharing. And that has always been at the heart of The Relatable Voice.

As you turn the pages of this special edition, I invite you to meet the people behind the books, discover their journeys, explore their worlds, and enjoy the conversations that make this Book Fair so special.

Take your time. Look around. Meet an author you've never heard of. Open the door to a genre you don't usually read.

Perhaps somewhere in these pages, you'll discover your next favorite author, your next favorite book—or a story that stays with you long after the Book Fair is over.
