Interview with author Beth Pellino-Dudzic

Hello Beth, please tell me a bit about yourself.

I grew up in Westchester County; NY we are the first county from NYC. Childhood and teenage years were very happy growing up so close to Manhattan. As a teenager I went to many high-level concerts of the day. I finished school and received a Business Administration Degree. I also was very involved in the New York Club Scene. Friends and boyfriend catapulted me in the rock world. Life was a bit different in those times. I did meet my ex-husband and moved to Honolulu, Hawaii and was blessed with three daughters. I did go through a divorce and moved my daughters back to New York. As a single mother I was able to get a job at IBM. All this time I had my books in my head waiting to come out.

Where are you from and where do you live?

As I said I’m from New York, born in the Bronx. I am totally a New York state of mind. I am proud of it. I now live in Pike Road, Alabama. A beautiful town which is the fastest growing town in Alabama. Living in a place which is affordable. There is such a thing as Southern Charm, people are friendly.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I am a huge fan of football. College and NFL. My bucket list item is to go to the Super Bowl and College Championship game. When football is over, I am a huge gardener. I enjoy planting flowers in my front yard coordinating different flowers and colors. I have an herb garden and vegetable garden.

Can you tell us a little bit about your journey?

As I said while living in Hawaii I started getting ideas for three different stories. They came to me in small vignettes. I thought one day I should write these stories. Life gets in the way and didn’t write them. About three years ago the story I am presently writing started coming to me fast. At the same time, I went on the Keto Diet and lost over 65 pounds. I dyed my hair and chose to have long hair. It sounds small but my transformation became noticeable. One day about two years ago, while cleaning my house my Perfection Saga series started to come in color. The story was running through me fast. I went into the shower and the story became real. I got my laptop and started writing. I then researched self-publishing options. After interviewing several self-publishing options, I found my Publishing Consultant and organized a team of super bright women. I have now published three books of my series with books 4 and 5 already written. Perfection Saga is a series of 8 books. I have three other stories waiting to be written. I enjoy writing and always knew that I was supposed to do something special.

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

Authentic, Driven and loving.

Share something our audience would not know about you.

I love clothes, make-up all things girlie. Spend a lot of money on these items. I feel clothing helps in my branding.

How did you get into writing or doing this work?

The idea was with me for 30 years. I wasn’t sure I could do it. In the last three years I believed I could do this and be successful. It is a joy. No writers block can’t get my story out fast enough. I was meant to write at this time in my life.

Can you tell us what inspired your book/work and what is the story behind it?

I was involved in the New York Club Scene in the mid to late 70’s. It was a time not sure we would see again. Many friends and a boyfriend had immersed me in the Rock lifestyle. While you are in it you hope that your band gets a record deal. It was very hard back in the day. I also wanted to sing. Being a young woman I let all insecurities stop me on that path. The story I wrote is fiction; however, I had inserted real moments that happen to me, were said to me, some true bits have been injected for sure. If people read my books and want to know if any part of the story is “me” I will tell them the truth.

Are you working on anything at the present you would like to share?

As I mentioned I have been self-editing Book 4 named Playing Dirty. It will be ready to go to my editor. Book 5, which doesn’t have a firm name is also done. Book 6 is about a third done. The upcoming books will have some big surprises. After the Perfection Saga series is done, probably another year and half. My next book will be a stand-alone book. It keeps trying to come out. My inner dialogue tells the book I’m not ready yet for you to come out.

What are your goals and aspirations?

I have written about 4 or 5 songs in every book. I can write lyrics but not music. I would love to work with a musician or band to put my lyrics to music. I know the feeling the songs should have, unfortunately I don’t write music. I also believe my books would make a great short-term series on a streaming network. I am going to take some online courses in screen writing and get a program for screen writing. Since I am self-published I own all my rights to my books and songs. I am determined not to give away all my rights concerning my series.

Where can our listeners connect with you online?

I am all over Social Media, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, YouTube and TikTok. I also have a website where you can order my books, read my newsletters and listen to most of my Podcasts. I do have quite a lot on my Google page.
